kids love cupcakes, so i think you should stick with that!. maybe make him red velvet cupcakes with chocolate icing!. its easy to make, just go to the grocery store and pick out what cake and icing brand you want, get cupcake paper cups, (cupcake pan too if needed); then go home and bake away!. they taste awesome!. i hoped this helped, :]!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you have to make a lot of cupcakes, and have tons of other works to do, just buy a good cupcake mix, and make it!.
If you have enough time, and patience, then make the cupcakes from scratch!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

My mom always just bought cake mixes and made our cakes that way!. I seem to recall her doing a telephone for my brother one year, and a model of a stuffed animal for me (my guests and I gleefully chopped off the head and ate it first!.!.!.mwhahahaha!)

This was cheaper than buying a ready-made cake, and we always got to help mom make and decorate the cake, which was always fun for us!. There are plenty of recipes out there for making cakes that start with your standard cake mix, in case you want to do something more exotic than just "yellow" or "chocolate"!.

(many years later we found out this was part of mom's secret plan - teach us to cook so we would do the cooking instead of her!.)

If you do decide to do the cake modeling thing, after you cool the cakes normally, wrap them in plastic wrap and put them in the freezer for a half hour or so!. Semi-frozen cake is easier to cut and won't make as many crumbs when you go to frost it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

This is similar to the ones we had as kids, but the concept is the same!.

The biscuit used was malt wafer with a chocolate bottom!.
They were stacked about 5 high, several piles long to form a log, and then covered in chocolate and then chilled!.

You could make round logs if you want individual ones for each kid

I have no idea what they are called or how to make them, or even if they we mums special!.

You could use any chocolate bottomed biscuit or any other chocolate biscuit that will stack well until you can glue them together with melted chocolateWww@FoodAQ@Com
