When lining a cooking sheet with tin of oil, should 1 side of the foil be face up?!

Question: When lining a cooking sheet with tin of oil, should 1 side of the foil be face up!?
Just wondering if 1 side is meant to touch food and the other to touch pan!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Actually, it does make a difference!. The shiny side *is* shiny because it is smoother (on the microscopic scale) and is thus less likely to stick to food!.

It's like sanding a wall before you paint it, because the paint adheres more firmly to the roughened surface!.

The shiny side is the food side!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, one side should be face up!. The other side will be face down!.

Seriously, it will work with either side up!. The shiny side makes a prettier surface!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i usually put the shiny side up, just because i always have!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
