Question: Can I sub tomato sauce with condensed tomato soup!?
I'm making tacos tonight and all I have is condensed campbells tomato soup!. Should I use the concentrate or mix it with the correct amount of water!? Or even a few less cans of water!? I need to sub for 8 oz tomato sauce!.
This is all going into a seasoning mix for tacos!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Use half the can without diluting it!. You should be just fine!. If you are making a large batch, you might need the whole can, but half should be fine!. Good luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes you can, but only water it down anywhere to a 1/2 of a can only and season it with salt & pepper because it's sweet!.

also add cumin a touch of oregano and onion and garlic powder and just a touch of taco seasoning!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Condensed tomato soups are usually quite sweet!. Sugar is added to cut the acid of the tomato puree!. I probably wouldn't use it with the taco seasoning mix!.

Do you have time to test a quarter recipe!? Or, run to the store for a can of sauce!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

if your cooking it with the meat then use about a third of it and add in a little beef or chicken stock and also add in about a teaspoon to 2 of ketchup!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you sure sure can!.
my momma does it all the time!.
