Question: How to make plain spaghetti sauce!?
Out of simple at home ingrediants like tomato sauce and tomato paste!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Heat up your Tomato Sauce and add in some Italian Seasonings (comlex, all in one seasonings), Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, salt and pepper (crushed red pepper if you want some kick to it), bring to a low boil and then add in the tomato paste to create the thickness of the sauce that you prefer!. That's it, simple and delicious! Fresh Basil would be great at the end, if you have it, but if you don't, I'm sure this will be tasty, hope this helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com

See!.!.!.I never do anything the simple way!. If you want it plain yet still have a little flavor try this:

Boil a few tomatoes just until the skin is fragile enough to peel off (about 3 min)
Peel tomatoes, crush them, add in the paste (2 cans) and about 1 can of sauce!.
Add a little freshly chopped basil, some salt and some finely chopped onion, and 2 cloves of chopped garlic!.

There is nothing over the top about this sauce (to me it's about as plain as it gets) You can add a little ground beef if you like too!.

If you don't have the time or patience to boil and peel tomatoes you can buy canned, crushed tomatoes too!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can cut this in half if you choose!.!.!.!. it makes a wonderful plain sauce!.

Marinara Sauce

2 - 28 ounce cans tomato puree
2 - 18 ounce cans tomato paste
32 ounces water (approximately, add more or less to your thickness preference)
2 tbls minced garlic
2-3 bay leaves
1 tbls dried basil
1 tbls dried parsley
1 tbls dried oregano
? tsp dried thyme
? tsp dried sage

Mix all ingredients in a 4 quart Dutch oven; bring to a boil, stirring constantly!. Reduce heat, cover and simmer over very low heat several hours for flavors to meld, stirring occasionally!. Do not let it boil too rapidly!. Since tomato products seem to vary in sweetness, a couple teaspoons of sugar can be added if a little extra sweetness is desired!.

This is a basic sauce, producing a flavor that I prefer!. To some or all of this sauce can be added meat of any kind, vegetables of any kind, etc!., to make a marinara, cacciatore, meat sauce, whatever you prefer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I use equal tomato sauce and diced/whole tomatoes from cans!. I use just a small amount of tomato paste but I know people who use a lot!. I put meat in it, so I brown the hamburger or italian sausage in a pan, add onions and green pepper, and mushroom, then add it to my sauce and diced tomatoes!. Then you stew it for a bit with whatever spices you want!. Tarragon is great in it, as well as italian seasoning, basil, rosemary, oregano!. I also put weird stuff in like cumin, chili powder, a tiny bit of corriander!. But almost everything is optional!. Basically it's just the sauce and spices!. Some people add olive oil but I don't like it in there, and it adds un needed fat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Gently fry a chopped onion and a little finely chopped garlic in some olive oil!. Add the tomato sauce and cook till it simmers, seasoning if necessary!. If you have some, add some chopped basil and simmer for the last 30 seconds!.

Then just add to the pasta and grate some parmesan on top!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I like regular tomato sauce with a pat of butter in it!. The kids love it like this to!. You can add italian seasonings and garlic if you like!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

just take sauce or paste add italian season and cook simple and good !. you can buy italian season in a jar at store its got everything in itWww@FoodAQ@Com
