I would do one of 2 things!.

Make 1 ro 2 sheet cakes depending on how many people you want feed Put them next to each other with a bit of frosting fr glue on the sides the touch/long sides of course!.

Fold a large piee of paper in 1/2 and cut a butterfly shape out of it!. Trace theat onto tag board and cut it out!. Place that ont he cake and cut along it!.

Frost and decorate!.

Or use a flat sheet cake and make little butterflies out of melted choc, white choc etc!.!.!.or royal icing!.

To do this put the outline of a butterfly under wax paper!. Trace the butterfly with the royal icing (easier to add lots of colors to) and then set it in a corner where the wing will be up as if it is flying and let it dry!.

Peel the waz paper off and sucyre on the cake with a little buttercream frosting!.

If you want to do this ahead of time royal icing would be best as it does take a couple of days to set well and you can leae it otu with no problem!. Then all you have to do is the last minute stuff of adding it to the cake!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hello hi, For the mold, I would check into a restaurant, catering supply outlet!. By the time you make the cakes, cut shape put together you will find that there is too much wastage!.

People will tend to lead you to placed like WalMart and a like, but specialized items, I go to a professional place!. Okay it may be a couple of bucks more, but it is money well worth spent!.

You won't just use for one occasion, you will find there will be many more that you will use that mold, in the end it's how you dress the cake differently that counts!.

Happy baking

It really depends on what you want!. I find that I have a hard time carving cakes, as I am not that great at it yet!. But I would use 3 sheet cakes, and then carve it!.

For a mold, which would have way more detail then I could manage, I would recommend Williams & Sonoma!. I am fairly sure they have a good one!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
