Cake piping gel recipe, anyone?!

Question: Cake piping gel recipe, anyone!?
I've tried making piping gel with the Knox gelatin and light corn syrup but it came out too watery for me every single time I've made it and I only used 2 tbsp water as instructed!. If someone has another recipe, or has tips on how to follow the other recipe, please help!. I noticed on the back of the tiny decorating gel tubes that they sell in the super market that the ingredients are corn starch and water!. Anyone have any idea how to make piping gel with those ingredients!? Thank you so much in advance!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Is this the recipe!?

2 envelopes of Knox unflavored gelatin
2 tablespoons of cold water
2 tablespoons of light Karo syrup

1!. Sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water in a small saucepan and let set for about 5 minutes!. Heat on low until the gelatin has become clear/dissolved - DO NOT BOIL!.

2!. Add the syrup and heat thoroughly!.

3!. Cool and store, refrigerated, for up to 2 months!.

To Color: Add coloring paste/gel or food coloring drops to get desired color!.

To Use: Put in icing bag, plastic squeeze bottle and decorate!.

I've used this recipe several times and it turns out great!. The only thing I can think is that on step 2 you need to get it steaming hot without letting it boil!. Then pour it into a bowl and let it sit until it's cooled completely!. It will thicken as it sits!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
