What can i use to thin icing?!

Question: What can i use to thin icing!?
I am making a cake, and have store bought icing, i was wondering what i could use to thin it to make a crumb coating, that would not affect the flavor or look!. can i use water!? Or would a bit of milk work!? i want this to look like a professional cake (it is going to be Disney Cars themed for my nephew's third birthday), so the crumb coating layer is going to be very important!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Chocolate milk for chocolate icing, regular milk for vanilla icing!. Use a bit of water if you are stuck with no other choice!. Just remember a very small bit at a time!. The icing will thin out faster than you think and it is harder to bring it back!. Use an electric mixer if you have one!. Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

milk would keep the flavorWww@FoodAQ@Com
