Any of those spices will work great! I usually do a blend of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, allspice, and cardamom! You can leave out any that someone is allergic to that way!. My friend is allergic to cinnamon but loves spice and carrot cakes!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would substitute a little allspice and a little cinnamon!. It's a different flavor, but will serve the same purpose with apple dishes -- adding a deeper layer of flavor!.

BTW, Allspice is not a spice blend!. It doesn't contain nutmeg!. But you'll often find them paired together in apple or sweet potato dishes!. They complement each other!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Allspice is a fine substitute when cooking fried apples and you're out of nutmeg!. Perhaps a pinch of cinnamon, also!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Using Allspice in place of nutmeg should be fine!. You may actually like it more!.

I use in when I make mashed sweet potatoes, add a dash while mashing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not an exact substitute but I have done that before too!. I also find that a little touch of cloves is excellent with nutmeg!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

For fried apples yes!. You're trying to get a spicy sweet taste and allspice will work!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you should be fine but do one and try it before you do all of them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Depends on what you're making, but it should be OK to use!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
