My Shepherd's Pie Recipe:

Ingredients:
*Corn (Cooked from Frozen or Cooked in Microwave then cut from cob)
*Ground Turkey or Beef (Cooked)
*Mashed Potatoes
* Shredded Cheese if Desired

Ingredients for Mashed Potatoes:
*6 Medium russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
*1/2 cup warm milk
*1/4 cup butter or margarine
*3/4 teaspoon salt
*Dash pepper

How to Cook Ground Beef/Turkey:
Put it in a skillet over medium high heat!. Use your spoon or spatula to break up the meat/turkey as it cooks!. When the meat/turkey is completely brown with NO PINK, it is done!. Yes you can drain the fat as you go if it is producing a lot of liquid!. Or you can wait until it's done cooking!. When the meat/turkey is done you can then add whatever you think you would like to it!.
*Hamburger can be purchased with different fat levels*
*Hamburger is pretty flexible*

How to Microwave Corn and Cook Frozen Corn:
Cook fresh corn on the cob in microwave with husks and silk intact!. They will cook in their own natural moisture!.
Place on paper towel!. Turn ears over and rearrange after 1/2 cooking time!. Cooking times based on ears of corn and depend of how much corn you want to use in your shepherd’s pie and how many people you are serving for!.

1 ear - 1 1/2 minutes
2 ears - 3 to 4 minutes
3 ears - 5 to 6 minutes
4 ears - 7 to 8 minutes
6 ears - 8 to 9 minutes!.

When ears are hot to the touch, remove and wrap in kitchen towel or foil!.
Let stand at least 5 minutes!. Remove husks and silk (which is easier than when cold) and serve!.
Use a kitchen knife to cut the corn off of the cob!.

For frozen corn, first bring water to a boil in a covered saucepan!. The amount of water to use depends on the vegetable and the size of the package!. For most vegetables, one-half cup of water is enough per pint package!. The frost in the packages furnishes some additional moisture!. Then place frozen corn in boiling water, cover the pan and bring the water quickly back to a boil!. To insure uniform cooking, it may be necessary to separate pieces carefully with a fork!. When the water is boiling throughout the pan, reduce the heat and start counting time!. Be sure the pan is covered to keep in the steam!. Make sure to cook vegetables until just tender!. Drain!.

How to Make Mashed Potatoes:
Place potatoes in a saucepan and cover with water!. Cover and bring to a boil; cook for 20-25 minutes or until very tender!. Drain well!. Add milk, butter, salt and pepper; mash until light and fluffy!.

How to Put the Pie Together:
Take a casserole dish out of wherever you store one or use anything that could be used as a casserole dish!. Put a layer of cooked ground beef or turkey on the bottom of the dish!. Add a layer of mashed potato on top of the ground beef/turkey!. On top of the mashed potato add a layer of corn and on top of the corn add shredded cheese (if desired)!. Continue until you reach the top of the dish!. It is now ready to eat!. To save leftovers, wrap the dish in plastic wrap and put in your refrigerator!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It is very easy!. It is simply a casserole built from bottom to top!.
Starting from the bottom the first layer is browned ground beef and onion!. Chop the onion and fry it in olive oil and then add the beef and fry!. The following layer are usually veggies, usually including corn, peas and carrots!. The very last layer on the top is mashed potatoes!. This should be put in the oven and broiled until the mashed potatoes have browned!.
Everything is good with shepherd's pie in terms of dessert, but maybe go with something that is somewhat traditional (i!.e!. ice cream)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

there are so many diff ways but I love the simple way my gramps makes it he just makes mashed potatoes the way he normally would in an 8x8 glass pan you will need at least enough potatoes for six then 2 cans of corn and fry about 1 and a half to 2 lbs of meat either ground pork or beef layer the bottom of the pan with your drained meat then your drained corn then add the potatoes on top bake at 350 for about 15 mins until a light browning on the top of the potatoes it sounds simple but the flavors compliment each other very well, it's a down home farm recipe from IowaWww@FoodAQ@Com
