Is it normal for a crock pot to boil? I also noticed there was water on the edge of the lid. dangerous?!
i made chili and noticed it was boiling on the edges!. It was on HIGH (4 hours), but freaked out and turned it down to LO (8 hours)!. I didn't want anything to burn!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Anything will boil at the highest temptures!.
A crock pot is for slow cooking mostly of large meals that you can eat of off!. So there should be no need for cooking on high unless it is for a crusting purpose or browning!.

Rule of thumb for crockpotting is to leave an eighth of an inch from liquid to top of pot!. This happended to me once!. Just to be safe, spoon a little off the top!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
