Every shower I ever went to had small sandwiches, a deli tray of meat and cheese, and a cake!. May I suggest other things!.
It depends on your time of day that you choose!. If it is meal time, people expect a meal!. In the middle of the afternoon, you can have what you want!.
A salad luncheon!. Pick at least 3 salads, one low cal and healthy, like a green salad with fruit and vinaigrette, one cheap and easy like a pasta salad/ or macaroni salad, and one calorie laden like a 7 layer salad!. Do as much as you can the day before!. Serve with rolls or crackers!.
A dessert bar for the middle of the afternoon!. Have some cookies, a cake, a cheesecake, some brownies!. Maybe a bar cookie like lemon, or magic cookie bars!. Maybe some pies or cobblers!.
Have a sundae bar!. Put out sprinkles, nuts, different toppings!. dip the ice cream the night before!.
Have a appetizer bar!. Do several, some healthy, some not!. You could go elegant with shrimp, smoked fish and dill sauce!. go hearty with meatballs and sauce, mini quiches!. Or go crazy with Velveeta dip, that layered seafood dip or taco dip[it has Philly!.]Www@FoodAQ@Com
