How do I make banana bread?!
Answers:
Ok so you will need:
3 or 4 ripe bananas, smashed
1/3 cup melted butter
1 cup sugar (can easily reduce to 3/4 cup)
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
Pinch of salt
1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
Method:
No need for a mixer for this recipe. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). With a wooden spoon, mix butter into the mashed bananas in a large mixing bowl. Mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in. Add the flour last, mix. Pour mixture into a buttered 4x8 inch loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour. Cool on a rack. Remove from pan and slice to serve.
Here is my Aunts secret recipe:
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup mashed bananas
1/2 cup nuts (optional)
1/2 cup sour cream
So first put the butter and sugar together and mix until they look creamy and are completely blended. Then, add the the butter mixture the eggs and vanilla, mix until it's all mixed in. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Then add the flour mix, to the wet mix, and mix until there's no dry spots left in the mixture. Lastly, add the bananas, sour cream and nuts. Grease a pan with butter, or oil and pour the mixture in, but don't fill it to the top, only a little over halfway. Bake in the oven and 350 degrees for 1 hour. You know it's done if it's brown on top, and when you gently part it, you can see it's not wet. This is the best recipe ever, especially with really ripe bananas, watch out or you'll eat the whole loaf in one night!
here is the most simple recipe, and it's good.
Banana Nut Bread
1 box yellow cake mix
1 package Jell-O Instant Banana Cream Pudding & Pie Filling
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 ripe bananas, mashed
4 eggs
1 cup chopped pecans
Mix all the ingredients well. Pour into 2 large or 3 small greased loaf pans. Bake at 350° F for 40 to 45 minutes. (For those allergic to nuts, this recipe can be made without the pecans.)
Yield: Makes 2 large or 3 small loaves
I take a french vanilla cake mix & smush the nanas with the eggs, water, oil & add to the mix. I also add walnuts & a few mini choc chips. My kids gobble them up!!
experiments......
Any of the recipes given I'm sure would be good but for a different twist, add peanut butter chips. I always do and it's DELICIOUS!!!
Experience
whatever recipe you use, will call for vanilla extract... i suggest adding some chocolate chips to make it a tiny bit different from the norm.
