What can I substitute for Sugar?!

Question: What can I substitute for Sugar?
I am trying to make sugar cookies today but we only have 1/2 c of sugar. I am 1/2 c short of having enough. Is there anything i can substitute? Brown sugar?? Anything?? Thanks.

Answers:

1/2 cup brown sugar or 1/3 cup honey or 1/3 cup agave nectar or 1/2 cup splenda...

Brown sugar will change the taste and texture of the cookies, but that may not be such a bad idea. Generally speaking, substitute one-for-one. Try using a 1/2 cup of brown sugar. You could also try one of the many sugar substitute, but BE SURE that it is "OK FOR BAKING". not all sugar substitutes can be baked, and if not they taste VERY bitter!

You could probably get by with omitting the 1/2 cup of sugar altogether, but obviously brown sugar would work if you have it. Also, honey or maple syrup. Many people use apple sauce as a healthy alternative to sugar.

brown sugar could work, or you can use sweetners like splenda

i would use honeyor maple syrup
