You might want to consider using:
-Salt, pepper, garlic powder, basil & or a little Italian Seasoning (oregano, basil, rosemary)
-Broccoli
-Aparagus
-Corn
-Peas
-Tomatoes
I'm not feeling the cheese in this, but if you do, then cube up the colby jack.
Now, if I were doing this, I would take a baking sheet and place my cut up veggies on it (minus the peas-I'm assuming they are frozen, so just thaw them out and add them at the end). Drizzle all the veggies with some olive oil, salt & pepper. Then, roast at 400 degrees for about 20-30 min. By roasting the vegetables, you will have some incredible flavors. I promise. Once they've cooled down enough to handle, then add them to your pasta. You could even zest a little of the lemon over the pasta for some "brightness"....just the lemon peel and not the white pith underneath it. Enjoy!
I'm a personal chef.
Add the tomatoes, broccoli & asparagus and onions if you have them. Make a vinaigrette with 3 parts Olive Oil, One part vinegar (red wine or balsamic is nice), A little italian seasoning and a bit of dijon mustard. Whisk dressing ingredients together and toss with pasta and veggies.
I throw together salads off the top of my head all the time. Rarely use bottled dressings.
Italian Seasoning and tomatoes would be a great start! Chop the tomato into bite sized pieces and season the pasta/evoo mixture to taste. Stir. Add some olives perhaps or maybe a few of your fav veggies; chopped asparagus and peas in your case. Use some salt and pepper of course. Add in some Parmesan cheese as well! That's always a winner!

I use small frozen veggies like peas, corn, carrot cubes, etc for general pasta salad. You can use drained canned veggies if you want.
cut the cheese in small cubes or grate it. add spices and herbs til it tastes good. Sometimes I drain tuna or salmon and mix it in too.
add 1/4 cup mayo per cup of pasta.
You can add cooked broccoli to the dish. dice up the tomatoes and dump a reasonable amount in the pasta. add a bit of salt and pepper. A teaspoon of dried oregano. Grate some cheese on top and serve!
