idk how accurate 99 percent is but the fact of the matter is most of the salmon sold in the usa is farm raised

just because YOU can find it doesn't mean in most places it's sold wil
maybe you live near the coast

Basil is out of season, so what you buy will be hot house grown unless you live in a frost free climate like SoCal.

Salmon is always around $6.99 here, on sale around $4.99. And that is for the hormone fed, antibiotic treated, red dye added farmed Salmon. Wild is about twice that much and is also out of season until April, so all we have here is wild frozen Sockeye for $9.99 lb.

If it is 99 % farmed, then I live in Nirvana because I can find Wild Salmon here 365 days a year, and twice a year fresh for $7.99 a pound.

Our local super carries steelhead trout.. Generally under $6.00 per pound. Does looks similar to salmon, but I believe color enhanced. In the last year, I have seen salmon both farmed and wild vary in price from $2.50 to $10.00.. Basil do you mean fresh or dried. I agree there is no reason for outrageous prices of dried. Fresh, of which there are many types is very easy to grow for home use.
If it is too cold grow it indoors. The cost this way is almost negligible.

BTW our Walmart always has frozen tilapia.
