Things I Bake In The Oven(mostly desserts) Never Cook Underneath, HELP?!

Question: Things I Bake In The Oven(mostly desserts) Never Cook Underneath, HELP?
Ok, I'm a great cook, I've cooked amazing things for YEARS- has nothing to do with skill. I've never encountered issues with ANY other oven besides this one. Ever since my fiance & I moved into our apartment with this electric oven, I have trouble cooking a lot of things. It doesn't matter what type of pan I use(cookie sheet, a deeper pan, glass, metal, greased, ungreased, anything). I now have to put it on the bottom rack for 90% of the cooking time, then put it on the highest rack for a tiny bit to get it golden on the top & it STILL doesn't cook thoroughly on the bottom. When I bake stuff like cookies for example, they're always SO gooey on the bottom & the bottom falls apart almost like it's only halfway cooked on the underneath. If I cook them any longer though, they'll burn on the top, this is on the bottom rack. I've NEVER had difficulties before with any of this, just this oven. I was hopin some1 might B able to give me a few tips to help with the underneath of the food cooking at least a little better? Is there ANYTHING I can possibly do? I'd highly appreciate it if some1 could assist me. THANX! ^_^

Sounds like your oven is crap. Might be worth having a repair guy look at this one. Other than that I suppose you could try flipping halfway through or even cooking things upside down, if it is a dish that needs to be cooked better on the bottom than the top. You could also try adjusting the normal temperature and cook time. Sometimes the right combination is all you need to beat a difficult oven.

P.S. If you are renting it is the landlord's responsibility to fix your appliances.

You could buy a taster oven for your baking-they are very affordable and work well. If the bottom element of the oven is not working properly, maybe you could convince the landlord to replace it-check your lease and local renter laws, he might be required to.

It IS the oven. Buy an oven that's part convection oven for baking.

Unfortunately it is the oven. Your landlord should have to replace it if it is proven to be faulty because it is up to he/she to ensure things like that work.
The only other thing I can suggest is to invest in a small toaster oven. It's small so you won't be able to cook a roast in it but you would be able to cook plenty of other things in it - I use mine regularly because it heats up quicker and uses less power than my big oven.

Hope this is of some help!
