oven baking rump roast tips please?!

Question: Oven baking rump roast tips please?
I have a 2.88 boneless rump roast. I want to bake it in the oven but I don't know how. I'm going to season it and I want it well done. I have the seasoning ready (lemon pepper and garlic salt). How much time and what temp do I put the oven? I don't have an oven thermometer unfortunately. Any help and tips would be appreciated.

A cooking bag would be the best way to cook it, if you don't have one put the oven on 350 and put about 2 cups of water in the bottom of the pan (you can season the water also), cover it and bake it for no less then 3 hrs. The more it cooks covered the tender it will be. You want the roast to fall apart right? Keep the cover on it for the whole time. I have a large family I make a roast a week, beef and pork, I find that covering it makes it tender and it dont start browing around the edges, by fall apart I mean where you can take your fork and peel it apart. And yes beef stock didnt know if you had any, carrots and all the other good things that go with a roast.....happy cooking

Agree with the above (mostly), but use a veal or beef stock instead of the water. Add chopped carrots, celery, and onion to the liquid and roast. I wouldn't cover it though, just frequently spoon the liquid that the roast is cooking in over the top of it. You can season with bay leaf, rosemary, garlic, salt & pepper.
