Question: I need to poach salmon in a sauce, and put it in my thermos at 200degF. How can I tell the temp?
Is there a way to tell, or a thermometer you can do this with? If so, what type and do you know what sort of shop (ie. supermarket, Lakeland or Argos) would sell it?

I've seen a meat thermometer, but could you use this for the sauce and salmon?

By the way, the sauce mostly consists of soy sauce, in-case that helps.

WHY 200F?
and why a thermos?
the temp is far too much for for fish its going to taste like cotton wool!
If this is for a picnic(in this weatherand out side teps?)
other wise cook it and where ever you take it reheat it.

A candy thermometer sells for about $5 in the supermarket and it hooks to the side of your pan and you can measure the temp of the liquid while it's cooking.

If you want to measure the temp of anything, you can use an instant read thermometer (also about $5 in a supermarket). But, that said, if you want to put the salmon in a thermos at 200 degrees, it probably won't maintain that temp for that long.
