can I just use regular chocolate?!

Question: Can I just use regular chocolate?
I'm trying to make easter eggs (homemade) but I can't get my hands on any good quality cooking chocolate not even in my local supermarket! so I'm just wondering if it would be okay if I just used normal cooking chocolate?

You can buy a higher quality chocolate online. You could do that if you're interested. Just keep in mind that the flavor and quality of the finished product will depend on what chocolate was used. And seriously, there's a huge difference between inferior chocolate and high quality.

I would not reccommend using regular "supermarket" chocolate. Try to find a specialty store in your area and buy "Tempered" chcolate, which ever kind you want, Dark or Milk. If you use "supermarket" chocolate it will set up the same way, and trying to temper chocolate at home can be very confusing and difficult for the novice.

I used to be a chef for 6 years, and at the restaurant I worked in, we made chocolates once a week, and I would watch the guy doing it, and it would take him about 45-1hr to temper all the chocolate he was using.

Sure cooking chocolate is best, also a little cooking oil spread around the inside of the mould helps the releasing of the finished egg.

I would. our local grocery only carries chocolate chips or Baker's bars, and the Baker's bars are pretty tasty. I'm so ready for Easter!

why are you making easter eggs the day after valentine's?

Yes go for it it may not be as high in coco solids but will still work well.
