can i still cook this chicken?!

Question: Can i still cook this chicken?
okay i put hot water in the sink and put the package of chicken in the water when i went to take it out about 4 hours later maybe longer the package was full of water is it still okay to cook it ????

Answers:

It's perfectly fine to cook...I'd imagine it cooled off quite quickly, so there's little chance of microbe growth. Food handling isn't as tricky as the media would have us believe. :)

No, that is not a safe method of defrosting chicken. Read the USDA articles (links below) which tell you that you should A) NEVER use hot water to defrost meat, and B) never leave food unrefrigerated for more than two hours, unless it is held at over 140-degrees F.

Please don't take the advice of someone who says, "Sure, I've been doing it that way for years". If they have, they've been doing it WRONG for years!

If the chicken is defrosted, then yes.

Water isn't poisonous.

I WASH MY CHICKEN IN WATER SO YES BUT YOU PROBABLY COOKED THE CHICKEN..YOUR SUPPOSE TO DEFROST IN COOL WATER NOT HOT..
