Can I defrost cooked meatloaf, heat, eat, then freeze it again?!

Question: Can I defrost cooked meatloaf, heat, eat, then freeze it again?
I cooked some meatloaf, then I froze it for a day when I didn't have time to cook a full meal. I heated it, ate some, but there's still some left. Can I freeze the leftover meatloaf and save it for another day, or should I throw it out?

Contrary to all the old wive's tales posted above - Yes, you can safely refreeze meat as long as it was reheated and stored properly and to recommended temperatures.

So yes - you can re-freeze the uneaten portion again. The entire frozen-entree industry relies on freezing already cooked meat and other foods - doing so at home is no different as long as you heated it up to over 140 degrees and then didn't let it sit around at room temp for more than two hours. When you thaw and heat it up again, just make sure to heat until hot again.

The texture may suffer a bit - as each cycle of freezing/thawing will cause it to loose some moisture. But it will still be edible.

Ugh that's gross. You don't want to re-heat something more than once. It's been cooked, then cooked, it's going to get disgusting. Yuck. Just say bye-bye, moldy oldy meatloaf. You should only heat what you'll eat (hey, that rhymes) so that you don't waste.

Jonah is correct.
In addition, according to the USDA, it is even safe to thaw and refreeze meat without cooking it, if it is handled properly in between freezings.

I wouldn't refreeze it just put it in the refrigerator and eat it tomorrow. Next time when you freeze it you can freeze it in smaller portions so you can just eat the amount you want and not worry about this!

ONCE YOU DEFROST SOMETHING YOU CANT FREEZE IT AGAIN IT WILL BE BAD..SAY STRAWBERRIES I HAD IN THE FREEZER TO MAKE SMOOTHIES I LEFT THEM OUT ONE DAY THEY BECAME SOFT .I COULDNT REFREEZE THEM THAT WOULD BE GROSS

No, after you once freeze smth you can't re-freeze it.

if its fully cooked you should be fine, as long as its not re frozen raw meat, your good!

dont freeze it or throw it away, give it to the poor. they need it for a pillow
