Does cooking haddock in margarine ruin the healthiness of the meal?!

Question: Does cooking haddock in margarine ruin the healthiness of the meal?
Obviously butter and margarine are NOT good for you, and you should try to only use it in small doses. Im trying to be more healthy, and Ive taken to differant ways of cooking haddock that are really yummy. I like to melt 2 big spoonfuls of butter and put spices in it, then pour it over 5 or 6 pieces of fish and bake it in the oven. It looks like quite a lot of butter to be smothering the fish in. Does this ruin the healthiness of my meal, or is it still reasonable, as fish is really good for you? Would this still be considered a healthy meal?

What size spoonfuls? A couple tablespoons of butter melted for 5 or 6 pieces of fish isn't that bad, and you can use less butter and make it go further by adding lemon juice. Use real butter, though, or at least Smart Balance. Margarine is far worse for your health than real butter.

Butter is not bad for you in moderation. It is part of a healthy diet. Some fats are actually necessary to our health because there are nutrients we ingest and need that are fat soluble. This means that you need to have the fat in order to get the nutrition because it's the only way your body can utilize it.

So, drizzling a couple spoonfuls worth of butter over a half dozen fillets won't negate the health benefits at all. Serve with some good veggies and some cous cous and you have a very healthy, well rounded meal.

it's still got all the goodness but with some bad fat in there too. why not try olive oil?
