Can I use rice vinegar to make sticky rice for sushi?!


Question: Can I use rice vinegar to make sticky rice for sushi?
or is this another type of vinegar I'm looking for? It makes white rice stocky but it doesn't taste exactly like sushi rice. Can you help? thanks!

That is exactly what you want to use. Most recipes for sushi rice will tell you to add salt and sugar to the vinegar, and if you're skipping this step, that may be why it doesn't taste exactly like the sushi rice you get in sushi restaurants.

Should be able to.
Heat up your vinegar/sugar/salt in a pan for a minute, then fold into your rice.

You need to use seasoned rice vinegar for sushi. If you can't find it, you can make it yourself by adding 2 tsp sugar and 1/2 tsp salt to 5 tbsp rice vinegar.



i always use blue dragon rice vinegar on my sushi rice and it comes out nice and sticky :)
