Do you tend to cook your dinners from scratch?!
Or do you like to buy ingredients to make something on your own? (such as making meatloaf, homemade lasagna, etc)
:) Just curious
Answers:
I mostly cook from scratch!! I love being able to control the ingredients that I put in (such as the amount of salt, sugar etc) and I love trying new recipes. Plus I LOVE cooking it gives me satisfaction when I actually take the time to cook a homemade meal for my family.
I almost always cook from scratch. From stocks, pasta everything...cooking is one of my hobbies actually.
For me, preparing ready-made meal is boring. I want some excitement if I spend time in the kitchen, eat and do the dishes afterwards.
I got rather serious about cooking and eating after I learned how to make proper stocks. It's so interesting!
I never use those prepackaged foods. The few times i have, I had to "doctor" them to make them edible.
Recipes are all I use. In more than 50 years I have probably used something like hamburger helper 10 times.
I cook 3 meals a day, 7 days a week, 360 days of the year. Off days are when I have to go to town for some reason or other.
from scratch about 95% of the time. I have made HB helper several times but only in an emergency fast supper. I don't like it but they will eat it. :)
I do have to purchase noodles or canned tomatoes, jars of seasoning, fresh meat n stuff like that but I make the actual recipe myself.
I always cook from scratch...I don't really know any other way...I don't care for canned food or food in a box...to many preservatives etc ..there are one or two exceptions to that..I do buy tomato sauce..the only prepared vegetables I use are Green Giant...but I prefer fresh fruit and vegetables...
Have a great day............
We do uses the "helpers", kids love them, especially the cheeseburger macaroni. We drain a can of green beans and dump them into the mix. I also make stuff from scratch like lasagna, spaghetti, meatloaf etc....
Never out of a box. Always fresh ingredients from scratch..much better taste and you control the sodium, fat, sugar.
I use allrecipes.com and youtube.com for my every day cooking recipes.
I try to cook from recipes and such when I can. I don't have a problem with a little helper once in a while.
I find homemade meals to taste better and usually healthier too.
All of my meals are fresh & from scratch.Packaged & canned food is only for lazy people who don't care about their family's health.
Cooking from a kit or a box is for people who don't know what they are doing in the kitchen.
I rarely if ever use boxes, bags or cans. I prepare more han 95% of my meals from scratch
I do 90% of my cooking from Scratch. It is healthier.
