Use the same amount of lime juice as you would key lime juice. If you substitute with lemon juice call it a pucker pie.

I would not worry about what kind of limes they are. The recipe is so easy and foolproof that the type of lime, in my opinion, does not make a noticeable difference. I love Key Lime Pie and have made it with whatever lime I could find at the time. Takes longer to juice the key limes because they are so small.

good luck

Sunny Anderson (Cooking For Real, Food Network) says that because Key limes are sweeter than regular limes, she adds the juice of one orange to her pie recipe if she cannot get Key limes.

YES, and straight across. generic limes or lime juice is ok. Not as flavorful as Key Limes. But they will work in those dishes where the palates are not super sensitive or trained - Gourmet tastes!

Ok, I use bottled lemon and lime juices most of the time and dried zests. I only cook for cowboys and they only care that they get fed.

Yes, you can. The taste/zest may be a little off, but it won't be that noticeable. Use the same amount of regular lime juice that's called for in key lime juice.

Good luck!

lol - I'm no expert but limes and key limes are two different fruits. I don't think you can substitute but you can use limes and just call it a lime pie. Good luck!
