Im making a single cupcake from my friend for his birthday (already have the recipe for that) but does anyone have a really easy frosting recipe? I only need a small amount and when i googled it they all had ingredients I don't have like cream of tartar (or something like that) and icing sugar. thanks so much!

Answers:

White Icing

This icing dries hard and gives a smooth look to your cake.

2 large egg whites
3 cups confectioner's sugar

Take egg white and whisk well. Sift and add confectioner's sugar 1/2 cup at a time, adding in gradually. Stir quickly and vigorously. Spoon into piping and use to decorate. Be careful, this icing dries fast. Cover with a damp kitchen towel. Store in an air-tight container.

You can very easily half this recipe if you don't want that much:)

You will need icing sugar. Take about a tablespoon of margarine or butter and mix 3 tablespoons icing sugar into it. Thin with 1/4 teaspoon water and a few drops of vanilla or other flavoring. Mix until smooth. Add a few more drops of water if it's too thick.

If you prefer, let a little ice cream soften at room temp for a few minutes and top the cupcake with that.

If you have whipped cream (real or fake) you can always use that on a cupcake.

All you really need is powdered sugar and a bit of milk. Put say 1/3 cup of powdered sugar into a cup or bowl. Add just enough milk to make it spreadable...like a paste. If it's too thin, add more sugar. If it too thick, add just a dab more milk. This is NOT rocket science. Do make it rather thick because it will melt a bit when you put it on top of a warm cupcake. It's really more of a glaze than an icing, but it will look nice, taste nice, and it is super easy.

just butter, icing sugar and any flavouring/colouring

but the butter and icing sugar in a blender . blend til stiff then add ur colour/flavouring.

scoop into your piping bag and practice the designs. the mixture will turn hard but you leave it open in air

hope this helps
