Do you ever throw random ingredients together to make a meal?!
I just made some ground turkey, added black beans, mushrooms, brown rice, and then added a white wine/heavy cream/chicken broth sauce. Some canjun spice and cayenne and MMMMM.. I LOVE random meals.

Yes! I do it all the time with versatile ingredients such as pasta and rice. If you add some kind of vegetable, meat or protein source, and a sauce of some kind, its fantastic!
Yesterday I made vermacelli noodles with some chicken, a bunch of vegetables I had in my fridge, peanut butter, and this thai type sauce. It was great.
One day I forgot to take some meat out of the freezer for dinner AND we didn't have any fresh veggies in the house. So...I improvised. Big-time. I took a cruise through my cabinets and came up with this concoction that turned out to be pretty good.
Italian Mac 'n Cheese
2 boxes cheap macaroni & cheese
butter, olive oil & 0% milk
1 14.5 oz. can asparagus cuts & tips
1 10 oz. can white turkey in water
1 oz. Neufchatel cheese
1-1/2 tablespoons purchased pesto
onion powder
8 Ritz crackers
Boil macaroni as directed. Meanwhile, open & drain cans of asparagus & turkey.
While pasta is draining, in pasta pot combine cheese sauce mix, butter & olive oil (use half butter, half olive oil as called for on the macaroni boxes), milk as called for plus 1/4 c. extra, and cream cheese.
Cook over low, stirring, until smooth. Add asparagus and turkey; stir gently until hot. Stir in pesto and onion powder to taste. Add macaroni; combine. Crumble the crackers and stir in. Stir until all is nice and hot, then serve.
We ate ours with fresh cucumber slices and lowfat ranch dressing.
Ground beef pie. Cooked of some ground beef, added diced onions, mushrooms, and bell pepper. Made a white gravy like I would use for biscuits and gravy. Threw in some shredded pepperjack cheese and mixed it all together. Put it in a baking dish and topped it with store-bought biscuits and baked it off. Now I make it on a semi-regular basis, turned out pretty good.
I just made some tasty fried lo mein noodles by cooking a package of ramen noodles, draining it, frying up some diced onion in a pan using a little canola oil plus some sesame oil, and pan frying the noodles. Took about 10 minutes from start to finish and made the whole house smell great.

Oh heck yeah! When Im at Whole Foods in that little area where you pick out your meals and foods and stuff, people always stare at my box-tray-thing.
I'll have like some pulled pork, a small taco, some ravioli, and a bit of yellow rice.
( I swear, it looks strange, but it's AMAZZZIIINNGGG )
help w/mine?
I do it all the time! And if you tell them it is a recipe you got from a book they will love it! (yea i know we are lying) But if we get away with it then we are so proud of ourselves Ha ha ha .
Ted.
All the time. Best is leftover veggies and garlic and hot salsa, makes a great soup. I also make stir fries with frozen veggies and small pieces of leftover meat and add some shrimp and thin pasta.
I make tacos with wheat tortillas. Threw in chicken, onion, red pepper, mozzarella, mangoes and lime juice. Mmmmmm.
Yes. Sometimes I succeed and sometimes it is a disaster. I can cook. I really can't WING it. So I should follow recipes.
