16 oz = 1 lb
3/4 lb=3/4x16oz.=12oz.
1/3 x 12oz=4oz.
He used 4 oz. of cheese.

simple math.

Are y'all getting as tired of these darned kids putting simple math problems in Cooking & Recipes just because the problem mentions foods?

If there is 3/4 of a pound of cheese to start, there were 12 ounces. 16 ounces in a pound. Don't you remember that from 3rd Grade?

If I/3 of 3/4 is used, that means I/4 pound was used, which means 1/2 pound is left.

if you can't figure the fractions, figure 1/3 of 12 ounces. Divide by 3 which gives you 4. Then subtract 4 from 12, which leaves 8 ounces, or 1/2 pound.

He bought 9/12ths lb and used 3/12ths. 3/12ths is 1/4th.

1/4 of a pound. I think. Yeah. Thats a lotta cheese.

My mind...oooo...

That would be 1/4 lb of cheese, quite a sandwich!

Is Sal a mouse? 4 oz. of cheese is way too much for a sandwich.
