Which salt substitute No Salt or Nu Salt tastes better & why?!
Answers:
Agree that the 'no-salt' salt substitutes are chemical time-bombs...my best recommendation is to look for the Mrs. Dash products in the condiment section at any good supermarket - they are salt avoiders rather than salt substitutes and come in many several kinds of flavors, onion-garlic, red peppery, lemon pepper, etc. I use these exclusively, together with parsley flakes and garlic bits, to season just about everything. I'm on a low-sodium diet restriction [bum ticker] so have found these seasoning blends super useful. In combination with olive oil, these seasonings also make good salad dressings or marinades for meat, poultry or fish. Bon appetit!
Agree with miz lamb, but experiment with different spices and start cutting back on your salt. Check out some recipies in Cooking Light magazine or web site. They always list calories, fat, salt, etc.
neither one is a good substitute. better to do without. They are both loaded with potassium which does not go good with some medications.
