i just bought a deep fryer?!

Question: I just bought a deep fryer?
Alright, I just bought a home deep fryer, http://www.walmart.com/ip/Presto-FryDadd…

What type of oil works best?

Can I use the same type of oil for frying fries as deep frying a twinkie? Or Chicken?

or can I just use Canola oil and be fine?

Thanks,

i use any oil that i have, on sale, canola, vegetable, corn, etc...try making a deep fried pork chop, the very very very best!!!!!!dip em in egg then in bread crumbs, deep fry for approx.8 min per chop, til golden brown, delicious!!!!

I use a product called supa fry ( australian), it is a solid oil of animal and vegetable mixture and can be reused several times as long as you strain it back into a container after each use and refrigerate. I would think something similar would be available in the US. I have tried other oils but find this really crisps the items nicely.

Peanut oil is a master for deep-frying. The smoke point is high, so it doesn't get a funky burn taste, and it doesn't have a chemical taste like poorly-processed canola can get. Peanut oil IS higher in fat, but you just can't beat the taste and texture you can achieve.

You can use canola or peanut oil.I use the same oil many times adding more as needed.

i would use canola.... i try to stay away from vegetable oil... if u don't change the oil it will have more flava flav on down the line
