Question: Please give me some tips to garnish food in a colorful way?
Im planning to garnish using mushrooms. To my knowledge i can dice them and deep fry them by applying a paste of ginger garlic, pepper and salt. How else can i garnish using mushrooms. What are the other vegetables that i can use for garnishing. Please do tell me the shape in which they have to be cut also.

You can make them into a really tasty and pretty garnish by taking small button mushrooms and smearing the inside of the caps with a little garlic butter.

Roll them in a little seasoned flour then dip them into a batter ( make it with a little beer in the batter flour instead of using all water see here)

Then deep fry them until golden, drain on kitchen paper and garnish your dish with them while they are still hot

you can make roses out of tomatos.....just use a paring knife and cut the skin thin....in the manner you would peel an apple keep the peel in one long piece.....start at 1 end and roll it together and you have roses......use a knife and on a cucumber slice small strips around the cuke.....slice the cuke and you get cuke pinwheels ......there are websites you can see pics of garnishes just google food garnishes and you will beable to get more ideas!!!!! Good luck

nice job..
well.. for garnishing using mushrooms.. u can cut them into circular shapes. as in cut them horizontally into layers. don't chop them into cubes. chopping them would make them look too usual. and if u want u can use some of the edible colouring agents which u get in the market over the mushrooms.
another way of chopping would be. grate the mushrooms into really tiny pieces. and mix them wid some other grated vegetables like.. carrots.. or cabbage.. or and vegetable which is sturdy enough when u cut them and the ones which u usually use in salads.. would be good.

well .. other vegetables .. would include.. The best.. i would say would be.. The CORRIANDER leaves.. they even add favour to the dish which u make. it is one of the best garnisher which looks gr8 an even helps make the food gr8.

and if the dish which u r making is a sweet... u can grate cashews.. and sprinkle them over the dish.. they look really damn good to see..

if u r making some soup... u can pour some creme spirally over the soup in the serving bowl.

there r really lot of ways... if u can mention wat exactly is ur dish which u r going to make.. i can give u more options.

brain ;)
