Can I Freeze Apple Pie?!

Question: Can I Freeze Apple Pie?
I've recently started to do some of my own baking: bread, apple pie, cake, etc. What I'd like to know is can I freeze a precooked apple pie take it from the freezer and cook it at a later date?

If I can do that do I need to de-freeze the pie or can I just pop it into the over? If the latter how long will it take?

Many thanks
Kevin

Answers:

Yes you can freeze it and cook it later from frozen, but it's probably best to thaw it out first as it will cook faster and not burn the pastry before the apple is cooked.

of course you can, when you take it out of the freezer at a later date, let it defrost and then heat it up in the oven or microwave... no probs

yeah you can freeze and cook at a later date, i find it best to let it thaw out first then pop it in the oven for about 20-30 mins. depending on your oven.

Of course you can, just don't defrost then refreeze it again

As for the "no it will get hard" answer -Strangely that's what freezing does to EVERYTHING

Yes you can. Thoroughly defrost.I suggest reheating slowly at a low heat in the oven. Don't microwave as the pastry will go soggy.

See if Sara Lee has frozen Apple pies if they do you are probably safe.

In Russia, Apple Pie freeze you.

In Rome, we had to make do with Barley broth.

no dont freeze it. It will get very very hard.

I take it you have never been to Iceland? The shop that is.

yeah i think so
