After opening a peanut butter jar. Do I put it the frigerator or in the cupboard?!
Answers:
you can do either...natural needs to be fridged I think, regular doesn't.
I will tell you, if its fridged it makes it really hard to make a sandwich without tearing the bread
Depending on how fast you use the peanutbutter, do as you please. My husband eats a large jar of the stuff in a week. So it doesn't leave the kitchen table. Regular peanutbutter has preservatives in it and the lid does not say to refrigerate. But if you don't eat a whole jar in 6 months, it might be a good idea to stash it in the fridge.
I use the all natural so it has to be refrigerated. Says so on the label and the lid. It has no preservatives or sugars or salt in it. It is just peanuts and peanut oil.
if its like skippy then either one, but if its the real stuff, like organic or just peanuts (you can tell if there is a layer of oil on the top of the peanut butter) then it has to go in the fridge
I don't because it makes it too hard to spread, breaking the bread.
But many peanut butters are high in sugar & will get moldy.
I buy the natural, all peanuts, type; but the oil settles out.
You could keep in the cupboard. You don't need to refrigerate peanut butter. But you can, but then when you use it it will be hard to spread.
Is it like a Little Debbie Nuttybar? If so I would put it in a zipper bag & put it in the cupboard. No need for fridge.
No need to refrigerate peanut butter after it has been opened ... unless you want really difficult to spread peanut butter
Peanut butter should not be refrigerated. It will be impossible to spread.
In the cupboard. Peanut butter does not have to be in the fridge to stay fresh.
You can put it in either.
You can do both but it stays fresher in the fridge!
Cupboard, in the refrigerator will make it too hard to spread.
