Recipes with imitation crab meat?!

Question: Recipes with imitation crab meat?
I bought some imitation crab meat because it was on sale and I'm short on money at the moment. I'm trying to go low-carb, but the whole student budget thing makes it hard, and this was the better option compared to pasta or bread. Anyway, I need recipes that I can use this for--and I need it to have lots of other ingredients so I can cut the crab meat serving and the carbs.

Anything you have would be great. I have Shiritaki noodles for things like stir-fries, and various veggies like bell peppers, broccoli, mushrooms, a little garlic and an onion. Help?

Answers:

Personally I like it in a cold seafood salad. Just dice the Krab, sauce with mayo and mince up some green onion and shred a bit of carrot.

Serve on a bed of lettuce - viola...low carb and filling.

you can make a cheap and low-carb version of seafood thermidor with half a can of cream of celery soup, some shredded cheese and a bit of water heated slowly - stir until the cheese melts. Mix in diced Krab, add peas if you wish - that would also be good over the shirataki.

Karyn's Cream of Crab Soup
Ingredients

* 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
* 1 (1.25 ounce) envelope hollandaise sauce mix
* 4 cups half-and-half, divided
* 1/4 cup butter
* 3 tablespoons Old Bay Seasoning (I only use 2TBs)
* 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
* 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
* 1 cup whipping cream
* 1 tablespoon cooking sherry
* 1 pound fresh crabmeat

Directions

1. In a medium bowl, blend flour and hollandaise sauce mix with 2 cups half-and-half.
2. Melt butter in a medium, heavy saucepan over medium heat. Slowly add hollandaise mixture, stirring constantly until thickened. Add remaining half-and-half, Old Bay, dry mustard, celery seed, and whipping cream. Bring to a simmer and reduce heat to low. Add crabmeat and sherry, stirring gently until warmed through. Serve immediately.

i do this with one pack of imitation and one of real, but it can be done with both. and it's amazing.

Crab Salad Tostadas

1 can (6.5 oz.) crabmeat diced
1 red pepper, thinly sliced
1 jalape?o pepper, thinly sliced,
divided 1/2 cup whole kernel corn
1/3 cup Italian Dressing
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
1 Tbsp. lime juice
3 Tbsp. Mayonnaise
2 Tbsp. Sour Cream
corn tostada shells

Mix crabmeat, red pepper, half of the jalape?o peppers, corn, dressing, cilantro and lime juice in medium bowl. Also mix mayo and sour cream in small bowl. Finely chop remaining jalape?o pepper slices; add to mayo mixture. Spread about 1 Tbsp. mayo mixture on each tostada shell. Top evenly with crabmeat mixture. Serve immediately.

It's kinda spicy but delicious.

well what I do is not really a recipe but I cook pasta and once it's done I only put on butter and salt, then I butter a pan and cook the imitation crab meat (it only takes 2 min.) on high. It should be a little brown, and once they're done I add it to the pasta. It may sound a but odd but it taste soo good. Hope you try it out :)

I mostly use it in stir-fries, with other seafood like squid & shrimp.
It doesn't need much cooking, so add it last, after the vegetables.
Add vegetables in order of cooking time, pre-cook the noodles.
