You don't say what you have on hand! It would have helped. Go to FoodNetwork.com and they will have some kid friendly recipes.

Not sure what you have or what you want to make, but these recipes are pretty easy and they taste awesome!!

Betty Crocker's Apple Crisp:

4 medium tart cooking apples, sliced (4 cups)
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup quick-cooking or old-fashioned oats
1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Cream or Ice cream, if desired

1. Heat oven to 375oF. Grease bottom and sides of 8-inch square pan with shortening.
2. Spread apples in pan. In medium bowl, stir remaining ingredients except cream until well mixed; sprinkle over apples.
3. Bake about 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown and apples are tender when pierced with a fork. Serve warm with cream.

Best Peanut Butter Cookies Ever:

Ingredients

* 2 cups peanut butter
* 2 cups white sugar
* 2 eggs
* 2 teaspoons baking soda
* 1 pinch salt
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
2. In a medium bowl, stir peanut butter and sugar together until smooth. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the baking soda, salt, and vanilla. Roll dough into 1 inch balls and place them 2 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheets. Press a criss-cross into the top using the back of a fork.
3. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

Depends on what ingredients you have on hand.

I started cooking again by finding easy recipes online.

Try googling something like this:
recipe+easy+ground+beef

Or any primary ingredient that you have. But the 'recipe+easy+' preface in a google search works pretty well. If you are missing a few ingredients, you may be able to find simple substitutes.

Here is my most-recent favorite for Banana Bread:

I prefer it with chopped walnuts, a handful of chocolate chips, and *no* raisins. You may like it with the chocolate chips and no walnuts or raisins.

Enjoy!
