Question: The black coating inside this cooking pot is coming out...?
k...so i dont really cook much at home but yea i cook like speghetti and some easy stuff like that.

I have this big cooking pot which used to be black inside and now the black stuff is like peeling out...is the pot done for? do i throw it away ? is that black stuff bad you and should i peel it all out and use it or what?

i agree with was--sounds like a non-stick coating to me...and you don't really want that junk in your food...do you? that's why i'm a fan of cast iron...



Throw it away. The "non-stick" coating is coming off. Buy a stainless steel pot. It will last much longer and can stand up to much more abuse.

And just go ahead and toss your non-stick skillets/pans as well. Buy stainless or cast iron. It is worth the money since you can actually use it and it will last a LOT longer than non-stick cook ware.



I would toss it - teflon t'aint good for ya.
