yes, that is fine all you have to do is half up the required amount.



What is the recipe? If it's a recipe for, say, salad dressing, you can do a one-for-one. If it's a recipe that depends on color, you should know that balsamic vinegar will change the color somewhat. White vinegar is 5% acidic while balsamic is 6% acidic, and so if the piquancy or sourness of the recipe will be affected, halve or use 3/4 of the amount of white vinegar called for, and add a compensating amount of water.



You shouldn't, black vinegar is much stonger and it will overpower all the other flavors of the recipe
