If each tier is going to be 1 layer high then it will be only about 2 inches high.
Most tiered cakes have 2 layers per tier and there is a filling between the layers so the tier would be about 5 inches high.
2 layers per tier will give you a much more substantial cake. You will need supports for the layers to prevent the upper layers from crushing or collapsing the lower layers. Use thin dowel rods or chopsticks cut to length.
