Beef Bottom Round Roast?!

Question: Beef Bottom Round Roast?
I don't often make meat, so I generally don't know the different cuts, etc. I have a slow cooker recipe that calls for a beef bottom round roast (or chuck roast), and I accidentally bought a top sirloin roast. Will this be comparable for the recipe, or should I head back to the grocery store?

Top sirloin is a much better cut than what you need for a slow cooker recipe - you'd normally grill or fry this quickly and serve it as a steak - but it will work fine, you just didn't have to spend so much!

Just roast in the oven. along with halved red potatoes, and steamed vegetables or roast vegetables. Carrots, parsnips, squash, pearl onions, mushrooms, beets are all good to roast. Top sirloin is too good to braise, better roasted. Serve with gravy made from the drippings.

Top Sirloin roast is one of the better cuts of meat you can buy so carefully check the cooking time for that and compare to the bottom roast.

It will work fine in the crock pot.... Season the roast to taste, then place in the cooker with a small amount of water or beef stock. Let cook for 6 to 8 hours, depending on how well done you prefer your beef....

Good luck......

Oh I made one last week in the slow cooker and I assure you it will be completely delicious.

the top sirloin was more expensive, but sure...it will work in your recipe with no problems
