I'm making a recipe that calls for honey mustard?!

Question: I'm making a recipe that calls for honey mustard?
I don't want to buy it, found info. that it's 1/2 honey, 1/2 mustard. I have dijon, country dijon, yellow. Which one? It's a salmon recipe with pineapple and salsa....Thanks!!

Answers:

with salmon i would go with a dijon for sure. it pairs well with honey too.

Dijon. I'd avoid your normal grocery store yellow mustard. That's just my take on it. Mix a very small amount of each with honey and taste a dab. I would go with dijon + natural honey, but everybody has their own taste. You want some tart behind it, but not the kind of tart you find on a philly cheese steak or coney dog.

It all depends on your personal taste. For a milder sauce, use the yellow. If you want a hotter, stronger sauce use the Dijon.

I would say yellow.

Test by one spoon of yellow and one spoon honey.

Any mustard you like. I use Dijon and honey.
