does anyone know how to make fudge from belize?!

INGREDIENTS:
1 lb granulated sugar
1/4 cup condensed milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 ozs. butter
DIRECTIONS:
Put sugar and milk in a saucepan and leave to soak for 1 hour. Add butter and place over low heat, stir until sugar is dissolved.
Bring to boil and boil till soft ball stage (when dropped into cold water by tsp. it can be rolled between thumb and forefinger) 257°F on candy thermometer.
Remove from heat, stir in vanilla, cool slightly, then beat until thick. Pour into oiled tin. Cut in squares when cooled.
NOTE: Coconut, nuts or ginger may be stirred in while sugar is cooking.
For chocolate fudge - add 2 tbsps cocoa or 2 ozs chocolate with the butter.
