I know you can eat lamb, but why not sheep?!


Question: I know you can eat lamb, but why not sheep?
If lamb is a baby sheep why can't we eat the fully grown version of a lamb? sheep have a nasty flavor?

You can. It's called mutton.



We do eat sheep. The meat is called MUTTON. Have you heard the phrase 'Mutton dressed up as lamb' It refers to an older person trying to look like a younger one and comes from the fact that an old lamb IS mutton.



We do eat sheep- it's called mutton, when you can get it. Stronger taste than lamb.
