Would it be chewy, smooth soft or other???

It turns into this supertender gelatinous flavor sponge...It's awesome. Make miso soup!


Good luck with that, though, I hear a tofu will fight back viciously when you try to boil them



Tofu makes a great addition to soups like Asian Hot and Sour Soup. How long you boil tofu should depend on the desired texture you're looking for in your recipe. For example, if you want a more meat-like texture, let the tofu boil a little longer so the outside edges become tougher. An average boiling time is about 20 minutes, though letting it boil for longer won't hurt it.

It depends what type of tofu you use.

silky or soft tofy may break apart when you boil it for too long, although firm tofu will toughen up a bit.

Are you boiling the tofu to heat it up? if so you can just drain it and eat it afterwards.

Tofu is great in soups too :)
