What cake to bake when using fondant?!


Question: What cake to bake when using fondant?

I want to experiment a bit with Fondant (first time) and want to know what is the best cake to bake to cover in fondant?

I use either a butter cake, sponge cake or a genoise which is like a sponge, layered and covered with fondant is fine, softer ones like angel food and a like, chiffon can be used to with a fondant topping.

This is the recipe I use for wedding and birthday cakes. Very EASY! Delicious flavor and moist but firm for fondant. I included fondant recipes!
