Safely canning rice and lentils?!

Question: Safely canning rice and lentils?
I make my own dog food, which includes rice and lentils. I have to cook it up every three days, and I often don't have time.
Is there a way to can a mixture of rice and lentils that is safe?

Just purchase up a set of mason jars & corresponding lids or heavy duty plasticware with tight fitting lids. Set each jar up with premeasured portions or fill to the top and scoop out as needed. The dog food will be just fine. Spoilage won't be a factor unless you leave it in there for weeks/months. Just set the serving portion in your dogs bowl for about 30 min. prior to eating on the counter to get it to room temp. as feeding it cold food might upset its stomach.

have you tried freezing it? rice is not good to "can" it gets too mushy but check here for more information:
