My poor baby sounds like he has a cold anything i can do?!

Taking him to the doctor is the best thing you can do, if he checks out okay and it isn't anything major then I would do the following things.
Every night, steam up the bathroom and take your baby in there. When I do this I run the water hot, and close the door. I let it steam up for awhile and then I get in the shower with my daughter and point the shower head to the back corner and close the curtain. I sit in the bottom of the tub, and just play with her (the water after running down the shower wall should be cool enough to sit in, but be sure before putting him in the water. Sit there for as long as the water is warm enough. This will loosen the mucus. As soon as you get out wrap him up and us an aspirator (I prefer the battery one that sings, it's much less invasive and my daughter doesn't mine it at all). After you've cleaned out his nose put baby Vick's on his feet and cover with socks (yup, i'm serious) then put footed pj's on him if it's not too warm in your house. Put a COOL air humidifier in the room and run it 24/7. You might also put him to sleep in his swing or glider so he's propped up a bit. This will help him sleep.
Throughout the day you should get saline spray (in the aerosol can) and spray that in his nose, let is sit for a few min. and then use the aspirator. Everytime you do that it should clear his sinuses enough to be able to nurse.
Make sure he isn't running a fever, check often.
But first, before you try any of this you need to take him to a dr. Babies can get dehydrated very fast when not being able to nurse.
Good luck! I hope you're little man is all better soon.
Mom to a 9 month old girl who has had 4 colds since birth. Her first one was at 4 months old.
put your son to sleep in an infant seat or with two firm pillows below his head so that his head is higher then the rest of his body. This relieves some of the congestion and lets him breath easier without having the mucus back up into his throat.
I have to kids of my own, and since we live in New York, they catch at least 1 - 2 colds a season.
Take him to the doctor as soon as you can. I don't know how old your baby is, but babies that catch cold catch them badly. My son at 5 months and my daughter at 1 month (right now actually) caught colds that turned out to be RSV and pneumonia. My son was fine but had to have breathing treaments at home. My little girl is being hospitalized and is on oxygen and breathing treaments and antibiotics. Telling you that isn't to scare you, but even what you think might be just a little could can be really dangerous for a little baby.
you can use little noses saline drops and a bulb syringe on his nose to help breathing. use a humidifier and incline his crib. if he has a fever or a chest cough, take him to the dr. other than that, they will just sent you home and tell you to let it run its course
he should see a doctor gasping can be a sign of wooping caugh and babies cant catch their breath your baby looks very young and if he is then even a cold can be dangerous play it safe take him to the er
