Don't ever fill a crock pot with water..at the most 1 cup ...always wait..the moisture in the cooking process will generate a lot of liquid..So will whatever you are cooking...
You could buy 1 can of soup and 1 onion for this recipe...

1 1/2 pounds browned ground beef
3 carrots, peeled and sliced
2 onions, sliced
4 potatoes, peeled and sliced
2 stalks celery, diced
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can water

Place potatoes in bottom of crock pot. Top with carrots and other vegetables.brown ground beef and place ground beef on top. Combine soup and water and pour over ground beef ... Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.

When it is cooked you could make the egg noodles according to the package and top with the ground beef mixture....

Good luck.........

Easy Hamburger Stew! Forget the pasta, sausage and tuna - put away for another day. The rest of your items are really good quantities for the stew.

Brown the 1-1/2 lbs ground beef on high with 2 onions, chopped. Turn down to low. Peel potatoes, carrots, and string celery; cut all into 1" pieces. Add to browned beef and onions. Add one can gravy (or use about 2 cups stock or broth, then add flour to thicken before serving). Add seasonings to taste: approx. 1 tablespoon of parsley, plus your choice of summer savory, marjoram or basil. Cook on low (simmer) until potatoes, etc, are tender. About 8 hours in crock pot, or about 30 minutes on stove top.

All you need are a couple of onions. Add another potato or two if you need more than 4-5 servings. And see which herbs and spices you have on hand. Summer savory, if you have it, adds a gentle hint of pepper, but you can always use ordinary black pepper. Very easy, very adaptable since you can adjust veggies and seasonings to what's on hand. Very good with biscuits if you have Jiffy baking (biscuit) mix or Bisquick.

Go buy a package of stew seasoning from the local store. These are little foil packets and cost less than 2 dollars. Also buy either a can of cheap tomato juice or stewed tomatos and maybe some green beans. Brown the ground beef and throw it and your vegetables along with the stuff you bought into the crock pot. Fill it about 3/4 full with water. Cook. Save tuna and sausage links for another time. Serve stew with noodles if you like.

Good luck and let me know how it goes.
