It's your steak. Eat it how YOU like it!

You should eat steak the way you like it.If someone puts steak sauce on the table and you don't use it,would you consider that an insult?
That said,in some societies it is considered an insult to add anything to food.Including salt or pepper. The cook seasons the food to perfection as he/she cooks it and it would indeed be an insult to add seasoning of any kind.
It depends on where you are I guess.Personally, I think it would be wrong not to eat food the way you like it just to please someone else.

Eating food the way you like it is one thing, but to take a beautifully marbled, perfectly cooked, and sometimes expensive steak and smother it with A-1 sauce is a travesty. If you prefer the taste of steak sauce over the taste of delicious grass-fed, tender prime beef, then you should be eating hamburger with steak sauce.

I'm just sayin'...

i think some people need to realize there isnt a rule book when it comes to food

food and eating is a sociable event to be enjoyed
the way YOU want it

you want steak sauce, have steak sauce
whats the point eating something you love, but not the way you want it????

i'm an ex chef
if someone asks for something, i make what they want
not what someone somewhere thinks they should have
i want them to be pleased and enjoy their food

Steak sauce is a condiment....just as one would put ketchup on a burger or BBQ sauce on ribs...it's only something added, that when paired with the meat....adds a different taste that one likes.

Think of all the other foods that have "enhancements"...roast beef and gravy, chicken and wine/sauces, pork and balsamic vinegrette/sauces---turkey, pork crown roasts, fish...etc. Mixing, marrying flavors is what gives the dish a different flavor for the moment you're enjoying it. I don't know who you're worried about "being insulted"...but don't be (especially if you're paying for the food!).

Personally, I like trying the different steak sauces and the variety of flavors.

I personally think that is very true...A-1 doesnt enhance the flavor of a steak (like salad dressing or ketchup). Every steak has a unique taste, and thats the neauty of eating them...you dont want it smothered in a sauce that overpowers it

eating steaks for a long time

Whomever that someone is needs to come to my house when I'm serving steak (or any beef) because my daughter-in-law always brings her own bottle to dinner. Actually it isn't insulting because if that's the way she enjoys eating her steak that's fine with me.

that is true. some people put a lot of time in cooking the best steak.
lets say you spend hours getting your hair ready for a photo with your friends and then they put a hat over all that hair you spend hours getting ready. how do you feel and how do you think they feel about their steak?

Well, I wouldn't consider it an insult, but truly flavored steak should not need sauce. Now there are some cuts of beef or elk or buffalo that you can add sauce to, but it's not steak sauce.
