slow cooking question...will i make a difference turning the heat up?!

Question: Slow cooking question...will i make a difference turning the heat up?
I'm making a pot roast in a slow cooker. I have 4 settings
4 hours
6 hours
8 hours
10 hours

I always cook my pot roast on 8 hours and it comes out perfect
I want it to get done a little sooner then 8 hours
If i cook it on 6 hours will it taste the same or no?

Alot depends on the size of the roast, and cut, some cooked to fast will be tough and chewy, also when you cut into it and it still has a rosy tone, do not panic, as unlike a dry heat cooking the slower moist cooking will not allow all the juices to escape, my mother the first time she did a pot roast for 5 hours was horrified to see this, she is an old fashioned 3 ingredient cook.

I would say the best time is the 6 hours one you mentioned it will be cooked juicy and not overdone.

Hmm!!!
NO
If your "perfect" is 8hrs - - then without THE experiment (for 6hrs) - ? ? is your choice
I would say NO - - the texture of your meat may not have time to break down - ? ?
As far as your flavor (? ?) what has the seasonings to do with your quality (perfect)

Cooking is an experiment - - usually stuff is tossed in together
? ? ? do you actually have a temperature probe in your 'slow cooker" - was it 180o or 200o ?
My crock pot only has hi and low - - 6hrs on high - meat just fall apart
Unless you accurately record ALL the steps in your cooking - ? - I doubt you can reproduce a fine dish
- - You might check the web for your cooker - - they often have lots of information

Set it on 4 hours. It'll be fine. In fact, you should get yourself a fast cooker (much better than slow cooker). It'll cook stuff extremely fast because it has it's own self-contained nuclear power source. You don't have to plug it in and the food cooks at 800 F.

I don't know where you can buy these. I saw an "As Seen on TV" one of these at a flea market once. It was called... hmm... I forget. It was like, "Radiation Cook" or "Radiating Cooker" or Radiation something. I forget.

it wlll taste the same even if you turn the heat to 4 hours. tenderness of the meat? no, it won't be quite as tender.

It would be just as good. Just be careful with slow cookers that have a high and low temperature. A high temperature can burn things if left on all dlay.

Start earlier.
