what to do with leftover italian bread?!

Question: What to do with leftover italian bread?
I have about a third of a huge loaf of Italian bread that I need to use up. Problem is when I made garlic bread with it my family didn't like it & the plain slices I gave them last night weren't so great either. Any ideas of what to do other than just toss it out back for the birds? It really has a strange taste....I won't buy it from this bakery again anytime soon.

Answers:

You can always make bread pudding...YUM! The sugar may cover up the strange taste...just be sure to add cinnamon and/or nutmeg to the bread pudding.

make bruschetta. basically you slice the bread than toast it and top it with fresh tomatoes and herbs. its absolultey fantastic in my opinion and is like a healthy alternative to pizza.

theres a link for a recipe. there are SO many variations but this is classic and simple. hope you enjoy!

If nobody liked the taste of it, just bite the bullet and toss it out. No sense in wasting other ingredients trying to camouflage it - you may not be successful.

slice it and freeze it... then use it to make French toast. Otherwise, just go to Plan B... toss it out to the birds. (We haven't seen the ground here since Christmas with all the snow we've had... the birds would appreciate it.)

bread crumbs - meatloaf/ meatballs/ hamburgers
croutons for salad
toast with cheese or cheese & sauce to make a mini pizza

You could always cut them up and let them dry up to make salad croutons.

Personal Experience

i would use it and make a sandwich and if there is any left over give it to the birds

Toast it with olive oil and dip it in soup.

Just toss it.

Croutons, use it in meatloaf.. Bread pudding..

Feed it to a cat
